A recently released NerdWallet study found 3 Midlands' area communities among the top ten in South Carolina for best places to buy a home.
Lexington #4 (average price $169,000)
Irmo #5 (average price $129,000)
Oak Grove #10 (part of West Columbia area - average price $128,000)

The study was based on home availability, affordability and growing population.
